It's been a bugbear for ages. To be fair, there's nothing quite like SL in terms of complexity. Having a single company provide the entire grid is pretty much a way to madness.
In the long run, Linden Lab will not be THE company anymore... assuming they survive these issues. And that isn't a bad thing - in fact, it's probably been part of the game plan since the grid was thrown open.
