Holic open beta coming up

Another one for your calendars, gamers. Holic, the MMORPG that features a slew of unusual features including User-Created-Quests and User-Created-Dungeons is heading out of closed beta and into open beta, this month, on the 17th.

Yes, its cute. Yes, its from Korea. Yes, it's 3D. Yes, you can travel by shooting yourself over vast distances out of cannons. Yes, there's a job system. Yes, there's robot pets. Did I mention it was cute and that you could travel by shooting yourself out of gigantic human cannons?

Operated by Netgame (who also operate Scions of Fate, Hero, and Ares), Holic's website promises a transition from closed beta to a technical test on 15 January (at 5PM PST) and thence on to open beta on 17 January at Noon PST. The technical test and open beta are open to all registered Netgame users.

The client download is just over 900MB at present. Until the 15th, the closed beta is only available to FilePlanet subscribers.

Also: more MMOs need "Fired Out The Barrel of a Massive-calibre cannon" as a transport option. When the possibility of massive internal hemorrhaging is taken out of the equation, that sort of travel, paired with "Champagne Supernova" in the background, would pwn.

That sounds like fun =) User created dungeons could be a very cost efficient way of making diablo 2 style scenery changes... Basically you give the users the toolset and have them tinker a dungeon into perfection instead of writing code that fits the pieces together randomly.

I support this idea!
