I like the idea of a "Contested Instance" - not just for the cross-faction play but also to encounter other people in your own faction. I personally don't like instances, but see them as a necessary evil with where MMOGs are today.

I don't think its fair to say 'I like instances' or 'I don't like instances.' There are several instances that I thoroughly enjoyed and there were several that I didn't. I found I especially enjoyed the ones that had a bit more depth and story than just wandering through and hacking everything you saw. Instances with side missions within them or non-combat objectives were lots of fun to work on with several people and I think a lot of the more mundane ones could benefit from the addition of more non-combat factors to compete with.
