I think it actually IS Fallout, or at least a Fallout-related MMO. Although, from his words, it sounds like it's not a pure conversion of the premise.

It SOUNDS like they're doing a combo high-tech low-tech world, something like Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind or Car Wars. Both of those worlds featured small ultra-technological enclaves surrounded by a world full of wastelands and death.

Of course, if you remember your Fallout Lore, there's plenty of room for this kind of world within the Fallout universe. So I think it's likely to be something along those lines.

I feel a lot better about it knowing that someone like Jason D. Anderson is heading it up. I think he has the props to make valuable contributions towards making it great.

Hehe, actually, having reached the end of the interview, he basically confirms that it's Fallout in his answer to the last question:

"Interplay is working on one MMO. It has not been "formally" announced, so I am not able to talk about it yet."

If it wasn't Fallout, he would have said something about going in a different direction or something.

I know it-- that's why I said Fallout without actually saying Fallout, wink wink.
