It would be awesome if Massively graphed Second Life transactions and added tick-marks for every time there were connection issues, to see if it slows this giant at all.

We have some data on that - but the information we have is user-to-user transactions for the last 24 hours. Unfortunately that 24 hour window tends to soak up a lot of resolution. It'd be great to have a 'last five minutes' or 'last hour' for that.

Nevertheless, I _do_ gather and keep what transaction data is available and I'll see what can be done with it.

Cool, I look forward to it. I just thought with all the outage coverage as of late, this week would look worse than weeks past.

There's way too many Second Life posts on this site. Second Life is not a game, it is a chat program with lots of graphics. For the love of god, please, less SL posts. I am tired of having to scroll past so many of them, and if anything is going to be a barrier to my reading this site regularly, it will be that.

Check out the number of posts listed on the sidebar. As of this post: 178 SL posts. Next closest, WoW (no surprise) at 84.

Arg. If there was less SL I could live with it. But really with the way things are now, this blog should be called "Mostly SL, and Some MMOs Too".

Second life is a game for creators, shoppers, and people that like art (or people that like to screw with people who like art). Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it isn't a fun passtime for others.

Now about the post... I like the picture ;)

Games are not the only kinds of MMOs we cover here. There are an increasing number of non-game MMOs, of which Second Life is just one.

I completely understand that there are other types of MMOs that you cover, SL being one. What I am saying is that this site is *bombarded* with SL posts. Again, I draw you attention to the number of posts by category: today SL lists at 189, and the next closest is WoW at 91. Yesterday SL was at 178 and WoW was at 89.

So since yesterday there are 5 new WoW posts, and 11 new SL posts in less than 23 hours. Ridiculous. That is what you call overposting. At this rate, this blog will be just about SL. This much discussion about *one* product should be held on a dedicated SL blog.

I love the idea of this 'Massively' blog, but the SL overposting is killing it. And just for the record, I'd feel exactly the same if there were 189 Warhammer Online posts, or 189 Hellgate posts.

Overposting! Otherwise known as freakin SPAM.
