I hear ya. Too often do I play a healer, that when I jump on my alt and try grouping, I can't help but notice how inefficient the healer is. I'll as soon forget bad pulls and overly enthusiastic DPS classes as I will forever remember the time we almost got in somewhat of a trouble because the healer wasn't completely efficient.

I'm just not meant for it. For me, the robes and staff is the only way to go.

As someone who's played a healer as my main in almost every MMO, I couldn't agree more. You are seldom publicly recognized, but if you aren't there no one else could do what they do. And there's no greater satisfaction (and stories) than keeping your group up when things looked to be all but lost. I think that truly good healers are some of the most skilled players out there, and most of the time they are content to be behind the curtain. But they are essential.

Great idea for the column. I will definitely follow it as I'm pretty pro-healer.

As pretty much the designated Monk of my guild in GW, I just find healing fun. I'm somewhat competent at other classes (Paragon = awesome damage negation; Ritualist = just plain FUN, one of the most versatile professions in the game - one PvP round you can be an extremely competent healer with Resto, the next, dealing massive AoE damage with Spirits and Channeling), but my first character way back in the beta events was a Monk, and it's my chief role. It's just awesome to be on Vent and hear your party members thanking you for saving their asses with that quick save. I may not deal the damage (although Smiting can be surprisingly competent), but I can definitely keep the ones dealing it alive, and that makes it all worth it.

I would definitely enjoy a few articles on GW healing.
